The Public Lands Camping Pass is required to random camp on public land along the Eastern Slopes of the Rocky Mountains from Grande Prairie to Waterton Lakes National Park, west of Highway 43 and Highway 22. A camping pass is also required for the Willmore Wilderness Park. The spatial file is the geographic boundary for the Public Lands Camping Pass that was established by Ministerial Order 86/2021 and superseded by Ministerial Order 08/2024. The pass does not apply to: private, municipal, or federally owned lands; Provincial Parks, Wildland Provincial Parks, Provincial Recreation Areas; Wilderness Areas, Ecological Reserves, Heritage Rangelands, Natural Areas. All acts and regulations will continue to apply including the Recreation Access Regulation that applies to agricultural dispositions. The boundary represents the external boundary of the pass area.</SPAN></P><P /></DIV></DIV></DIV>

This dataset is the geographic boundary for the Public Lands Camping Pass that was established by Ministerial Order 86/2021 and later superseded by Ministerial Order 08/2024. The boundary is defined by the map provided in the M.O. These boundaries were created using the Base Access roads, Kananaskis Conservation Pass, Porcupine Hills Public Land Use Zone, Parks and Protected Areas, and the Alberta Boarder.

Ministerial Order 86/2021 was repealed and replaced with Ministerial Order 08/2024. A portion of the camping pass in the north east has been removed between highways 16, 20, 40, 43, and Forestry Trunk Road.
