"description":"This map service supports the Environmental Records Viewer (ERV) web application and provides public access to spatial information on sites reported to Alberta Environment and Protected Areas that require or have undergone long term environmental management. Long Term Management (LTM) cases represent sites associated with unauthorized releases that may require assessment, monitoring, exposure control, or remediation. These sites may have potential or confirmed contamination. The service includes three layers: Open Long Term Management Cases: Active LTM cases where exceedances of Alberta\u2019s Soil and Groundwater Remediation Guidelines may exist. These sites are undergoing assessment, monitoring, exposure control, or remediation and have not yet received full regulatory closure. Portions of a site may have been remediated while other areas remain under active management. Closed Long Term Management Cases: LTM cases that have been confirmed to not exceed Alberta Soil and Groundwater Remediation Guidelines or have received regulatory closure. One or more remediation certificates may be associated with a single site. Remediation Certificates: Locations of issued Remediation Certificates submitted through DRAS by responsible parties, representing areas where remediation activities have been completed and regulatory closure has been granted. This service is intended to improve public transparency and awareness of environmentally impacted sites and their management status across Alberta. It is configured specifically for use within ERV and may not function as intended outside of the application. Locations shown in this service are approximate and are provided for informational purposes only; they should not be used for legal, engineering, or site-specific decision-making. This service is maintained by Alberta Environment and Protected Areas and is provided for informational purposes only.
