"description":"The intent of the RAPs is to protect fish, their eggs and juveniles and habitats from harm, through avoidance or full mitigation of any potentially harmful activities. The dates (seasons) expressed are the periods during which activities in or along fish-bearing waters are considered high risk for causing harm to specified fish populations. These Restricted Activity Periods apply to all fish-bearing waters as a general guidance. Any waterbody-specific RAPs, such as provided by the Alberta Water Act Codes of Practice, supersede those in this layer. Proponents of activities should plan their work to avoid RAPs. If unable to do so, proponents will be required to collect specific fish habitat and fish data to show the relative location of spawning habitat and activity and presence of fish within and near to the work area, and to use this information to develop a sound plan to avoid harm to fish and habitat.",
