Sub-regional plans support working landscapes that provide economic opportunities and maintain healthy landscapes by outlining management approaches and requirements for development and human footprint restoration. These plans enable public lands to support the interests of all Albertans, including Indigenous peoples, for the present and into the future. This data will include information on all formal dispositions that contain an inactive well site, the area of each disposition, and the restoration activities completed in the previous calendar year. For the purpose of reporting, an inactive well site means land that contains one or more inactive wells that have been inactive for five years or more and contains no active wells.
<DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P STYLE="margin:0 0 11 0;"><SPAN STYLE="font-size:12pt">The Upper Smoky Sub-regional Plan Inactive Well Site Annual Report includes spatial and non-spatial data as described in the Upper Smoky Sub-regional Plan section 3.1.1. Well sites are attributed to the planning zone they fall within. Planning zones align with those found in the Upper Smoky Sub-regional Plan Figure 1. If a wellsite overlaps </SPAN><SPAN STYLE="font-size:12pt">two</SPAN><SPAN STYLE="font-size:12pt"> or more planning zones, a centroid point location was utilized to determine which planning zone the well site falls in. A single centroid can only fall within </SPAN><SPAN STYLE="font-size:12pt">one</SPAN><SPAN STYLE="font-size:12pt"> planning zone.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
