Alberta Environment and Parks, Government of Alberta Government of Alberta Data and Information Security Classification Unclassified Under the GOA classification system the data is Public Esri ArcGIS 10.3.1.4959 Lineal features representing railway arcs are continuous throughout their length and attribute classification. There are no breaks, gaps, overshoots or undershoots in any of these features. Lineal railway arcs which cross or intersect other railway arcs within the same coverage are precisely joined at that point, forming a node at the junction. Nodes do not exist at the junctions of features in other coverages. All railways visible in the imagery are digitized, classified, and integrated. It is acknowledged that the positional accuracy of the data is dependent on the inherent accuracy and resolution of the imagery used, sufficient care and control of procedures used for feature interpretation and digitizing have been used to attain the "Positional Accuracy" identified below. All features visible in the imagery and listed in the specifications have been digitized, classified, and integrated. 10 Positional accuracy of SPOT and Orthophoto image updates. National Topographic Database None National Topographic Database The National Topographic Data Base (NTDB) comprises digital vector data sets that cover the entire Canadian landmass. The NTDB includes features such as watercourses, urban areas, railways, roads, vegetation, and relief. The organizational unit for the NTDB is the National Topographic System (NTS), based on the North American Datum of 1983 (NAD83). Each file (data set) consists of one NTS unit at either the 1:50,000 or 1:250,000 scale. This is a legacy product and no longer used in Access Update program. National Road Network None National Road Network The NRN product consists of two linear entities (Road Segment and Ferry Connection Segment) and three punctual entities (Junction, Blocked Passage, Toll Point) with which is associated a series of descriptive attributes. SPOT Satellite Imagery None SPOT Satellite Imagery SPOT is a commercial high-resolution optical imaging Earth observation satellite system operating from space. Contractors compare existing railway arcs to provided source imagery and make applicable changes. Updated data is returned to Environment and Parks for review and audit.
