<stepDesc>This layer of boundary is obtained by conversion from the 1:1 000 000 MicroStation file.
The NAD83 1:20 000 Provincial Data Base Mapping Program, Settlement MicroStation files are merged into two UTM files, one of 111 and the other 117 degree. The two UTM files are then merged and consolidated into a single 1:1 000 000 UTM provincial file. The single UTM file is processed and reprojected, with applied false easting of 500 000 meters, to obtain the ESRI layer. The layer is cleaned with all polygons closed and built without gaps or slivers. Settlement polygons that lie along the provincial or national park boundary are conformed to the Base Features Geoadministrative Areas (GA) Provincial and National Park layers. Polygon attributes are populated according to the GA Specification table structure.</stepDesc>
