This dataset has been created through consultation with the Air and Watershed Stewardship Branch to align their regions to the provincial boundary and geoadministrative spatial fabric. The boundaries were comprised of the Alberta land-use framework and protected areas. The two Peace regions were merged into one region, the two Athabasca regions were merged into one region, and the North Saskatchewan and Red Deer regions were merged into one region, while the South Saskatchewan region remained it's own region.
