The Base Waterbody Polygon is the Alberta Environment and Parks base hydrography polygon dataset designed to provide users with a full provincial extent GIS ready hydrography polygon base data layer to support business applications and decision making, related to water bodies and major water courses in Alberta. The dataset is comprised of a seamless provincial extent of hydrography polygon features collected from various sources of provincial base and resource map based data and some federal topographic data. This layer is visible between the scales of 1:433,342 and 1:216,672. Data Use Limitations The layer information is for the generation of the Base Water Feature map service only.
