The dataset is to help Government of Alberta Staff and external consultants to determine which Biologist is responsible for and has authority over Research Licenses (RL-PAAS and traditional RLs), FWMIS Data Requests, and other Fisheries Management approvals within that region. Please refer to the metadata included with the data for full entity attribute information.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
The Fisheries Contact Boundaries dataset is to be used by Government of Alberta staff and by external consultants. The dataset provides users with GIS ready polygonal representation of the Fisheries Contact Boundaries in the Province of Alberta, and is suitable for indexing or analysis purposes.

The dataset has been created through consultation with the Resource Stewardship Division's Fisheries Biologists/Managers throughout the Province to align their area of work with the Provincial boundaries. The boundaries were comprised of major rivers, HUC watersheds, municipal, Metis Settlements, Wildlife Management Units, and county boundaries and other dominant features on the landscape.
Received request from business areas to create the Fisheries Contact Boundaries. Boundaries originally completed by PGC Field Team offices.
