The Forest Areas dataset provides the administrative boundaries for Forestry Division of Alberta's Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. The Forest Area boundaries came into effect December 1, 2015, and replace the former Wildfire Management Area boundaries previously used for the Wildfire Management Branch of the Forestry Division. Forest Management Branch will also use thes boundaries for administrative purposes.
