Description:

This feature class consists of all harvest blocks that can be linked to information in the Alberta Regeneration Information System (ARIS) using the Opening Number. It has been compiled using all available data sources provided by disposition holders. The majority of the blocks have been taken from ARIS Reconciliation datasets where available. Other data has been taken from Spataial Data Directives submissions for Final Cutblocks, As-Built, and Final Harvest Plans. The Final Cutblocks are considered the final cutblock boundaries and will eventually replace data from the other data types when it is available. The As-Builts and Final Harvest Plan blocks are used to provide the best available spatial reference for cutblocks until they can be replaced with the Final Cutblock data. For FHP only those blocks that have an entry in ARIS with a Skid Clearance Date have been included in this layer. The blocks taken from As-Builts and Final Harvest Plans can be identified using the DATA_ORIGIN fields which will have an origin with an _ASB_ or _FHP_ in its name.

This dataset is the primary feature class in a series of layers that make up the Provincial harvest layer database.

As part of the compilation process, basic information is extracted from ARIS and assigned to each harvest block.
