Service Description: Alberta Wildfire - Federal Land service includes the polygons designed to provide users with a representation of all the Industrial Sites - Open Pit / Mine, Metis Settlements, Indian Reserves, Air Weapons Range, Military Bases and National Parks for the province of Alberta required for Wildfire Applications. This service only includes the symbology of the data and does not include any labeling, the labels are included in a separate "Alberta Wildfire - Basemap Labels" service, alberta_wildfire_basemap_labels.Metis Settlement is a land set apart for the use and benefits by the Metis people, and for which the legal title rests with the Crown in right of Canada. The federal government has primary jurisdiction over these lands and the people living on them.Indian Reserve lands are lands set aside for the exclusive use and benefits of the Band(s) to which it is assigned. The federal government has primary jurisdiction over these lands and the people living on them.Air Weapons Range is established by the Department of National Defence, Government of Canada, within the Province of Alberta. Air Weapons Range is the area used as a practice and firing range with restricted access provisions and which is owned and operated by the Department of National Defence, Government of Canada.Military Bases are established for the Department of National Defence, Government of Canada, within the Province of Alberta. A Military Base is an area owned by the Department of National Defence, Government of Canada where various military activities occur.National Parks include the polygons for Banff, Jasper, Wood Buffalo, Elk Island and Waterton National Parks.
