Service Description: Wildfire - Forest Area Search Service includes the polygons designed to provide a representation of the administrative boundaries for the Forestry Division of Alberta's Ministry of Alberta Forestry and Parks for the province of Alberta specifically for the Industrial Wildfire Control Plan (IWCP) application to be used as the Forest Area search in the IWCP search tool.The Forest Area boundaries came into effect December 1, 2015, and replace the former Wildfire Management Area boundaries previously used for the Wildfire Management Branch of the Forestry Division. Wildfire Management Branch will also use these boundaries for administrative purposes. Forest Areas are the administrative level accountable for wildfire and forest management in the province of Alberta.
