Type: Group Layer

Geometry Type: null

Description: This group of layers represents the Arctic Grayling Lotic Fish Sustainability Index (FSI) metric by ‘Current Adult Density’, ‘Immature Density’, ‘Historic Adult Density’, ‘Overharvest Protection Need’ and ‘Habitat Protection Need’ by HUC Watershed of Alberta. The FSI is Alberta Fish and Wildlife’s method of assessing fish stocks on a provincial scale. The FSI was developed to bring consistency to individual fish stock assessments and provide a province-wide evaluation of the status and sustainability of Alberta fish species. Using data and information from a variety of sources, including; fisheries surveys, scientific literature, local and traditional knowledge and expert opinion, seventeen different metrics are summarized and integrated to classify population integrity. The productive potential of the habitat and threats and their mitigation. Populations are evaluated in terms of four groups of metrics; population integrity, population productivity, threats and the ability to mitigate them and reliability (quantity, quality, and timeliness) of the data. This layer is not visible zoomed out beyond the scale of 1:6,933,486.
