This map service contains the Crown Land Reservation dataset featuring non-agency or specific agency managed reservations, produced for and owned by Alberta Environment and Parks (AEP). A reservation does not grant authority to occupy or use public land. A crown land reservation is a tool under Section 18(c) of the Public Lands Act, to identify a management intent that will inform and provide direction to potential land users and regulatory bodies as authorized under the Public Lands Act. This dataset contains the following active reservation types: Crown Land Reservation (CLR). The Crown Land Reservation layer data is maintained by AGSP, on behalf of AEP. Crown Land Reservation layer methodology has been updated for this dataset and includes attribution for the reservations sourced from the BERNIE Data Management Platform. The data is compiled and approved by AEP based on a data conversion exercise from the Geographic Land Information Management Planning System (GLIMPS) and ongoing inclusion of new reservations as applied for and approved. |
