Description: This layer represents the ABWRET - Relative Wetland Value Assessment Units. The Alberta Wetland Rapid Evaluation Tool - Relative Wetland Value Assessment Units (RWVAUs) feature class consists of land-based units that were defined using a combination of ecological and hydrologic parameters. The 21 units were delineated using the Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC) Watersheds of Alberta and the Natural Regions and Subregions of Alberta 2005 datasets. The HUC 4 watersheds were classified by dominant Natural Subregion. The classified HUC 4 watersheds (within larger aggregated HUC 2 watersheds) were merged by Natural Subregion into ABWRET RWVAU polygons. The ABWRET RWVAU polygons were referenced to the Natural Regions and Subregions of Alberta 2005 and the Base Features Geoadministrative Green / White Area boundaries for the province to characterize the type and area of Natural Region and Green or White Area within each ABWRET RWVAU polygon. This layer is not visible out beyond the scale of 1:27,733,946. Data Use Limitations This dataset is produced for the Government of Alberta and is available to the general public.
