The Lake/River Annotation Canal/Ferry/Ford (50K) layer represents the label for the Alberta Environment and Parks base hydrography polygon dataset and base hydrography point dataset derived from the Custom Series 1:50,000 annotation for the Base Water Features.
The Base Waterbody Polygon is the Alberta Environment and Parks base hydrography polygon dataset designed to provide users with a full provincial extent GIS ready hydrography polygon base data layer to support business applications and decision making, related to water bodies and major water courses in Alberta. The dataset is comprised of a seamless provincial extent of hydrography polygon features collected from various sources of provincial base and resource map based data and some federal topographic data.
The Base Hydrography Point Event layer contains hydrographic point features representing the locations of water or water related features captured through the 1:20000 Provincial Base Mapping Project, the 1:50000 Resource Access Mapping Program, the Alberta Vegetation Inventory Program and the Federal Government National Topographic Data Base 1:50000 mapping.
This layer is visible between the scales of 1:54,167 and 1:27,084.
