Description: <DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>FWMIS Simplified Hydrology Arcs is a derived layer from the FWMIS Hydrology Arcs feature class, which in turn is a derived layer from the BFD SLNet Hydrography. FWMIS Simplified Hydrology Arcs has been modified for Fish and Wildlife business purposes, where spatial adjustments and field attributes have been added or removed as required. Modifications include, but are not limited to, the addition of a 'Species Presence' field, edits to spatial and aspatial components, removal of topological error, and annual maintenance as required. 'Species Presence' is updated quarterly (approximate) or as new information becomes available.</SPAN></P><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN><SPAN>Base Features Derived Simplified Line Network (BFD SLNet):</SPAN></SPAN></P><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN>The BFD SLNet base is a simplification of the Base Features Single Line Network (BF SLNet) which involved removing or manipulating all features that do not form simple geographic connections. Due to the simplification process that was applied to the BF SLNet, the BFD SLNet contains fewer streams than the BF SLNet and no streams that have been split on characteristics other than confluences. The simplification process removed approximately 30% to 40% of the arcs present in the BF SLNet. For problematic flows, such as secondary flows, the arcs are deleted. Unsplitting does not remove the linework but multiple arcs are now identified as only one arc. All problematic features in the BF SLNet are removed from this dataset to facilitate the assignment of Strahler Order.
