Service Description: This map service provides visual representation of the data collected by Alberta Environment and Protected Areas and Alberta Energy Regulator of applications and authorizations for Licences under the Water Act in Environmental Records Viewer (ERV). The data includes information on applications and authorizations for term licence, preliminary certificate and temporary diversion licence under the Water Act. The data visually represented includes the following: 1. applications in received and decision complete status for surface water and groundwater diversions under a licence (defined as a “diversion of water” under the Water Act). 2. authorizations in active and inactive status for surface water and groundwater diversions under a licence (defined as a “diversion of water” under the Water Act). Alberta Environment and Protected Areas collects this information under the following sections of the Water Act: Licences - Section 50(1) and 54(3); Temporary Diversion Licences - Section 62(1); Preliminary Certificate - Section 66(1) and Transfers - Section 81(1). The information collected under the Act may be disclosed under Section 15 of the Water (Ministerial) Regulation.
