The 1M Base Stream 1:1,733,371 to 1:433,343 layer represents the major rivers and creeks in the Province of Alberta.
The graphic symbolization is determined by a feature class created by Alberta Environment and Parks, Provincial Geospatial Center, Custom and Series Mapping Unit for the 1:2,000,000 base map and is visible between the scales of The layer is based on the Single Line Network (SLNET) and Hydrography polygons which are designed to provide users with a connected network of single line and hydrography waterbodies.
The Single Line Hydrography Network (SLNET) contains all captured single line representations of hydrographic features. In addition, single line representations of polygonal features and single line arbitrary network connectors are in the file.
Base Waterbody Polygon is the Alberta Environment and Parks base hydrography polygon dataset, and comprises seamless provincial extent hydrography polygon features collected from various sources of provincial base and resource map based data and some federal topographic data.
