This layer represents the Parks and Protected Areas of Alberta - Provincial Parks Label.
Provided for use by GoA staff, and the general public.
Boundaries have been interpreted from written legal descriptions appended to Orders-in-Council. In case of discrepancy between the GIS data and the written legal description, the written legal description shall take precedence.
Provincial Parks preserve natural heritage; they support outdoor recreation, heritage tourism and natural heritage appreciation activities that depend upon and are compatible with environmental protection
These areas are defined by the Provincial Park in the Provincial Parks Act.
This layer is not visible beyond the scale of 1:1,733,371.
The label layer symbology display is controlled through the Label Manager based on visual scale ranges.
