Description: This layer represents the Parks and Protected Areas of Alberta - National Parks Outline With Fill boundary. Provided for use by GoA staff, and the general public. Boundaries have been interpreted from written legal descriptions appended to Orders-in-Council. In case of discrepancy between the GIS data and the written legal description, the written legal description shall take precedence. National Parks are "representative natural areas of Canadian significance", protected for public understanding, appreciation and enjoyment, while being maintained in an unimpaired state for future generations. These areas are defined by the National Parks Act. This layer is not visible beyond the scale of 1:27,733,946.
